Shows carbohydrate metabolism in turfgrass

Graph shows how Water Soluble Carbohydrate metabolism in turf grass plants declines and accumulates as new leaf emerges. The Water Soluble Carbohydrate (WSC) within the plant is its energy reserve. After mowing, the plant expends energy running down its WSC in order to push out and growth a new leaf. Photosynthesis from the new leaf produces WSC that eventually replenishes energy reserves.
